Incompatible extensions

As of September 1st, 2022, wbAMP is discontinued. The AMP technology is on its way out and most users are progressively phasing it out, while Google itself no longer requires it for SERP features such as Top Stories or News carousels. The extension will be in security mode only, meaning only security issues will be fixed going forward, for existing subscribers. It is no longer possible to purchase or renew wbAMP subscription.

This page presents a list of Joomla extensions that we have found incompatible in some way with wbAMP or AMP in general.

Dynamic404

This plugin lets you create a redirect in case of 404 errors. As amp pages have an amp suffix added to them, they are not real URL, and Dynamic 404 may trigger a redirect because of that, thus breaking wbAMP.

At the very least Dynamyc 404 should be disabled on AMP pages, using the Disabling plugins wbAMP function. It maybe required to entirely disable it in some cases.

Easy frontend SEO

It's been reported to us that Easy Frontend SEO can cause all AMP pages to be 404s. Disabling Easy Frontend SEO restores normal operation of wbAMP and all AMP pages are working normally.

We currently do not have any information about the specific feature or configuration in this extension that causes the problem but will update this page with any details we become aware of.
