Hi,
I'm very intersted in buying sh404SEF tools (thanks to Koolstra Simon's book which has an entire chapter about sh404SEF).
But I have differents questions before buying it, I know the day i buy your product i will have to renew each years, so I better know before...

1/ K2 component

As I could read on differents topic, you don't develop the k2 plugin, Joomlaworks do it. So I know you can't say a lot about it, but as most of my websites are using K2, could you confirm I will not be desappointed the day sh404SEF and K2 won't be compatible anymore ? Is it really today ?
There's a tool to manage canonical tag in sh404SEF, I have a plugin to manage Canonical Tag for K2 (k2canonical3 from managecms.com) - Will sh404SEF take hand on this so I just have to deactivate this plugin from lmanagecms.com ?

2/ Admintools

Some functions of Admintools are redundant with sh404SEF as I could understand in the documentation :
URL redirect - I also use sometimes the redirect tools of joomla - Will I just have to de activate both and use sh404SEF tool to handle this ?

3/ Social Tag / Social buttons

Can tell me if sh404SEF is able to manage social tag for K2 ? As I understand, it manage tags AND share button. Does share button work on K2 ? I'm using COalaweb social share tool today to manage this. If I understand well, i can de-install this tool if I'm Using sh404SEF ?

So how you can see, it will prbably be a very intersting update for me to instal sh404SEF : all in one tool actually.
The big question is : What is the real relationshipo beetwen k2 and sh404SEF ?

Indeed K2 support doesn't really depends on us, and thus we can't really provide tech details on what depends on JoomlaWorks.

1 -

I can't say what will happen in the future, sorry ;) I'm not sure what you mean by "Is it really today".

Will sh404SEF take hand on this so I just have to deactivate this plugin from lmanagecms.com ?

We do not manage canonical "automatically". We let you manually set canonical on any page of the site through our URL manager. I don't know the canonical plugin you mention. If it follows the Joomla API, it should work the same with sh404SEF, but the only way to really know is to test.

2 - You can setup pretty much any (internal, not to other sites) redirect in sh404SEF. What you can do is indeed described in the documentation. The joomla redirect plugin is not used any longer when sh404SEF is enabled, you can disable it.

3 - sh404SEF can display sharing buttons for any component that implement the Joomla API for content (onContentBeforeDisplay and onContentAfterDisplay). I'm pretty sure K2 does that, but you'll have to confirm with them. In addition, you can place tags in your content, in modules, etc such as [sh404sef_social_buttons], as described on this page of the documentation, and those will always be turned into social buttons, regardless of the extension used to generate the content.

I can't say if this can replace the Coalaweb social share plugin, this depends on their feature set, and what you use of it.

The big question is : What is the real relationshipo beetwen k2 and sh404SEF ?

There is no relationship between the companies, if this is the question?

To be honest, you have so many questions and they don't really depends on us, so I would simply suggest that you give it a try. Just get a subscritpion and test. This is what refunds are for.

First I want to thank you for your answer. I know my questions relates primarily to the component K2. I wanted to have your side of the story... You took the time to answer and I have it :-)
I will try your component for sure (have you already thanks Simon Koolstra :).
Before going further, i'm just waiting for the answer of other developper (k2 plugin and K2Canonical) and then ... let's go :-)
