when we try to update sh404 update from within joomla we get the below error:

Warning
Error connecting to the server: 401

Error
Package download failed: http://u1.weeblr.com/dist/sh404sef/full/com_sh404sef_4.6.0.2718_full.zip

I do not want to manually update as I am not comfortable with that.

Hi

Assuming you have an active subscription for sh404SEF, this error would be the sign that you're not using the correct update keys. Please check out this page in documentation.

Thank you this worked but we have another problem. On our home page somehow the meta title does not reflect what is in joomla or sh404SEF. It simply shows HOME. Please check www.devanutrition.com

Hello,

I am having the same issue: "Error connecting to the server: 401"

Error

Failed to download package. Download it and install manually from http://u1.weeblr.com/dist/sh404sef/full/com_sh404sef_4.7.1.3144_full.zip.


It seems to me that there is a communication problem between sh404sef and the weeblr.com server. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have entered my update keys in the appropriate section of sh404SEF configuration and I have double checked it but it still doesn't work.

Now I have to download and update (install) sh404sef manually from my weeblr account.

Please, consider investigating this issue from the weeblr.com server side or within the sh404SEF code.

Hi

It seems to me that there is a communication problem between sh404sef and the weeblr.com server. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Don't forget that the communication doesn't happen only between sh404SEF and the update server. It happens between your server (meaning PHP, CURL setup ,etc) and the update server also, and you may want to look into that as well.
The update server is supposed to be pretty reliable, it has a few hundred thousands updates under its belt since 2013. We simply don't have any report of failure. But of course, bad things can always happen I guess.

In any case, please use only the helpdesk for support requests, this is a pre-sale only area.

Thanks for the fast reply. Sorry for posting here. I was looking for the helpdesk for a support request. I didn't realize that the link is in the menu.

I will wait for the next Sh404SEF release to try to upgrade it using the built-in Joomla upgrader again. If the problem persists, i will open a support ticket.

I am an old Sh404SEF user, back from the siliana days, then Anything digital. now Weeblr. You guys have done an outstanding job. Sh404SEF is the best Joomla SEO and SEF component EVER. Great product, great features and great Support. A MUST HAVE Joomla Extension for every site.
