#1037 – .html suffix in the URLs of my web site

Dear SH404 developer,

I have a problem: .html suffix doesn't appear in the URLs

Here is the web site: http://www.xxxx.it/index.php

I activated suffix option: I went to CONFIGURATION --> row File suffix: I typed: .html

Quick start:

- Enable URL optimization: Yes
- Enable remote configuration: yes
- Rewriting mode: with Htaccess
- Activate security functions: Yes

All SEO Joomla standard options are disabled.
Must I write the suffix by my hands in the URLs going to URL --> sef URL?

The other problem is that Sh404 wrote le URL different from how they were before
installing this component with SEO standard options from Joomla

The corretc name of web page was:
xxxx.html

Now Sh404 renamed it into:
xxxx

I'll be gratefull if you may help me.

All SEO Joomla standard options are disabled.

That's incorrect. Please check out the documentation, specifically the Getting started guide, which explains that Jooma Settings should match sh404SEF settings.

No, but most likely you haven't purged URLs after changing that settings. Whenever you change a setting that can modify the URLs format, you must purge the database of old URLs, so taht new ones are created again, with the new settings.

There are multiple settings that can alter that.
This example:

is strange, cause you shouldn't have 3 - with sh404SEF. I may need to login to the site to check why this is happening.
Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

I think you're very busy and I'm sorry to bother you.

Hi

I have looked up that article and it's alias is exactly as used by sh404SEF (xxxx). I just fixed the alias, deleted the URLS in the URL manager, and they are recreated correctly.

I think this happened because the title doesn't use a regular - character, but another one:

compare article title:
Convegno sulla storia e cultura del Popolo Armeno – Centenario del Genocidio
with one using regular -:
Convegno sulla storia e cultura del Popolo Armeno - Centenario del Genocidio
