We have used Jsitemap Pro and SH404SEF on sites in the past. Can someone provide a quick comparison of Jsitemap Pro vs the 4SEF sitemap feature? Does the 4SEF extension do enough that we could possibly reconsider using Jsitemap Pro?

There are obvious differences but a few features do seem to overlap. This is a presales question,  so we are just seeking an informed opinion. Does your development roadmap also eliminate the need for both?

Hi

Can someone provide a quick comparison of Jsitemap Pro vs the 4SEF sitemap feature? Does the 4SEF extension do enough that we could possibly reconsider using Jsitemap Pro?

The 4SEF extension does not have anything to do with JSitemap Pro in scope or features. 4SEF does only one thing: SEF URLs. JSitemap pro does not deal with SEF URLs. 4SEF is kind of a replacement for sh404SEF, bearing in mind that:

- 4SEF only does SEF URLs and does not have any SEO-related features

- 4SEO does only SEO - but very well :)

You may be speaking of 4SEO instead, which is an all-in-one SEO tools. 4SEO can indeed replace your current sitemap extension - on top of replacing a bunch of other SEO-related extensions as well such as for Structured data, content replacement and of course taking over and improving all of sh404SEF SEO features (redirectec, canonical, OGP and TWitter cards tags, etc).

At this moment, 4SEO sitemaps are not 100% there yet. 4SEO only creates content sitemaps, ie we're working as we speak on including Images sitemap. Release is scheduled this week and we should be more or less on time. Later on, we'll also have News sitemaps.

4SEO being an SEO extension, and talking about sitemaps, my focus here has been to make sure the sitemaps exclude as many pages as possible, only keeping the absolute best ones we can. 4SEO does a lot of that by itself, and provides very simple rules-based configuration for you to exclude even more irrelevant pages. It is also equipped to handle large sites, with tens or hundreds of thousands of pages.

Best regards
