I bought and installed sh404SEF a while ago and it's now outdated. What's the best way to update this extension? I don't want to lose any of my short URL or other data.

BTW I tried to open a support ticket and ket getting Access Denied 403 msgs even though I'm logged in.

That's expected if you do not have an active subscription, support is for users with an active subcription only.

Depends on what you mean by "outdated", it's always better to include actual version. But sh404SEF is backward compatible, so you just basically get the current version and update.

That said, you need to pay attention if you have also an outdated Joomla version (2.x for instance) or if you also have outdated other components on your site.
