I am new to Joomla so people have recommended to get this plugin before you go through a create your site. My question is would someone be able to walk my through and setup everything on my end once I make the purchase? I know how to install plugins but the changing the url links to sef links I am not sure how to do. I have been reading where people install and then the articles from the menu header direct to a 404 error because the sef links were not correctly done. Just trying to understand before I pay for the item.

We do not sell such service, so I would advise maybe you talk to some integrators who could install and set it up for you?

SEF URL in Joomla (that's not related to sh404SEF really) will work transparently if links are created using Joomla standard URLS (ie index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=xx). All URLs created by Joomla menus will be fine and will work that way.
