There i s a site that instead of classical PAGE 404 (wrong url) shows always the following error, I asked to webmaster the reason and he answered that was an SH404 not solved bug.

I saw also this ticket where the problem is explained:

I get this error instead of the classical page not found when the url is wrong: Fatal error: Call to a member function getType() on a non-object in /plugins/system/sef/sef.php on line 38

Hi

I asked to webmaster the reason and he answered that was an SH404 not solved bug.
Don't believe all that you read on the internet, it's wrong, most of the times!

We have seen this error in the past, it was created by a non-backward compatible change in Joomla 3.5.0. I think that particular webmaster simply didn't update sh404SEF to current version. We have no report on any such problem on our helpdesk.
