Hi, the new K2 release decouples sh404SEF from K2. If I understand correctly we will lose related configuration we have in K2 parameters? Does the latest version of sh404SEF allow us to the keep such settings? We still run 'sh404sef_4.4.6.2271'. tks for any feedback. .

Hi

the new K2 release decouples sh404SEF from K2. If I understand correctly we will lose related configuration we have in K2 parameters
"Decouples" is the right word. The sh404SEF is now a separate plugin. I would assume Joomlaworks has made it so that you don't loose settings you may have had in the past, and that all settings should be moved to the plugin?
This is how I understood things, and that more settings and options should actually be added.

Does the latest version of sh404SEF allow us to the keep such settings?
sh404SEF never had any K2 settings, and as K2 keeps supporting sh404SEF with a dedicated plugin, I don't see exactly a problem there.

We still run 'sh404sef_4.4.6.2271'. tks for any feedback. .
The feedback is that you should keep your Joomla sites and all the extensions on them fully up to date, always!

Nothing is great (yet). I'm (among other things) trying my best to keep my extensions fully up to date. I wish I approached update of K2 differently. in that matter. I ended up in the situation that now I can't get URL's constructed the same way as before.

Not until some plugin eventually gets released by Joomlaworks. I appreciate the fact that it was up to them to preserve 'backward compatibility'. I don't mind to pay additionally for the previously free functionality, but it's still to be seen.

So I urge people maintaining sh404SEF to at least provide any needed assistance to Greeks, or even maybe to put some support for K2 in sh404SEF - as very popular component. I notice that sh404SEF don't even recognize duplicates for K2 articles.

K2 is (maybe unfortunately) free component, while sh404SEF is commercial - I would like to see the issues like this addressed with more then 'it's not our problem - it's theirs'
