Hi there, we've recently acquired a website that already had sh404sef (v4.4.6.2271) installed. We do not currently have a subscription ourselves but I would like to have a doubt clarified regarding the homepage url's before purchasing an updated version.

The issue we're having is the following: we need to have our homepage urls to be "en/index.html", "fr/index.html", etc. Instead of just "en/", "fr/".
We can edit the url's for the secondary languages and just add "index.html" to the urls that are created, but as far as we know, we just cannot edit the main homepage url. In our case english being the main language, the "en/" entry doesn't even show up on the url manager, so we cannot edit it.

Is this possible to do in any version of sh404sef?

Hi

Well, that is irrelevant to the version being used. Not having a /en in your default language homepage depends on a Joomla setting found in the Language filter system plugin.

To be honest, I never tried doing something /en/index.html on the default language, and I can't guarantee it'll work as it goes against all good SEO practice, so there might well be a little check we do to prevent that from happening.
