I wanted to renew my subscription which expired in October 2015

I clicked in the 20% discount button but the price was still $44 - am I doing something wrong?

Depends if your subscription already expired or not. If expired, then the renew discount doesn't apply of course

You're right, the display is not smart enough, the button should be hidden after expiration. We'll fix that right away.
