Hello,

I am building a Joomla Real estate Quick-start, I want to Include sh404SEF in quick-start for my customers to my customized quick-start package.

I want to buy sh404SEF for my quick-start, Now my question is,My customer purchased quick-start then they also need to buy sh404SEF separately ?

Hi

There's nothing preventing you from redistributing sh404SEF, as it is a GPL licensed software. However, this would be agains our terms of service, and your account would be cancelled.

In addition, though you can distribute the software itself, you cannot use the name sh404SEF, which is a registered trademark, anywhere on your site or on your public material, brochures, ads, etc

It might sound harsh, but I think it's pretty simple really: we develop sh404SEF. To put food on the table and be able to do this full time, we sell subscription to download it.

If you buy one copy and then release it to your customers, then you take the software we wrote and you resell it to others, making profit without doing any work.
How do you expect this to work? how are we supposed to make a living? Do you plan on also including JomSocial, Akeeba admin tools, EasyBlog or others in the group of extensions you will resell?

sorry for late reply, I was busy with some products, I am not going to sell or change the name of sh404SEF. as I saw in FAQS Can I use your software on several sites?

It hows me Yes. As per the provisions of the GPL license, you can install and use the software on as many sites as you wish.

I already spoke with Jomsocial team and they are able to give me unlimited license and but if my customer need support then my customer need to buy license to get support.

This has nothing to do with GPL or redistribution.

Simply put, sh404SEF is a registered trademark. If you want to display the word "sh404SEF" anywhere, on your website, on a brochure, anywhere, you can't do that without our authorization (there are a few exceptions such as journalists, or citations). So any page unduly using the "sh404SEF" trademark will be subject to a Google takedown request.

to buy license to get support.
We do not sell support. We sell access to downloads new versions. Support can only work if we sell many subscriptions and very few people asks for support.

Good for you if Jomsocial agrees to this. You may have noted that Jomsocial have very different prices than ours. They charge between $99 and $299 for 6 months of support on one single domain. We charge around $45 for one year on unlimited domains.

We have always wanted to try to keep our prices as low and as affordable as possible, so that users all around the world can afford using them. It only works if all users share a little bit of the development cost.
