Hy
I would like to use sh404sef and I want to know:
1. Can I import old urls (I will make new site on J 3.4. and I would like to keep old ones)
2. Can I manage old SEF and non SEF url's like this: /index.php?option=com_content&id=81&task=view
3. Is for Google important to keep only old SEF urls or are needed both?
Thanks

Hi

1 - Depends on what your old urls are: you can import from old sites which already have sh404SEF (assuming the Joomla non-sef are compatible: ie from J! 2 to J! 3, but not from J! 1 to J! 2 or 3)
However, normally you don't import anything, even from an old J! 1.0. If you had sh404SEF on such site, and you transfer your content, sh404SEF should recreate the same SEF URLs, so you're covered.
2 - What do you mean by "manage"? In any case, non-sef urls are created and handled by Joomla!, not by a SEF extension. What you mention here looks like a Joomla! 1.x URL, is that what you have? Joomla 3 will not be able to handle those, whatever you do.
3 - Best is to never change URLs seen by search engines. If you absolutely have to change, then you should put in place 301 redirects where appropriate, or at least canonical URLs tags.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your answers.
Yes I moved site from J1.0 to J 3.4.
I manage to keep all articles id same as before.

I don't know what to do with urls
SEF /nice.html
non sef: /index.php?option=com_content&id=81&task=view
Mostly what is more important for google

With sh404SEF I can create same SEF urls as before but how to keep non sef urls, or are they not important (because all urls have SEF format?

Regards

Hi

Non-sef only matters if search engines know them. Were your non-sef URL from your old site indexed?
Did you have sh404SEF before????

Hi

If you had SEF URLs in your old site, there's no reason that they would be indexed. Non-sef are internal, hidden by SEF extensions.
Simply recreate the same SEF URL in your new site and you should be ok.
