Hi, I want to buy sh404sef but I would like to clarify about item that will be in a few categories, subcategories. Will be have item just the one link or it will be to create dublicates beacause of item is different categories?

Hi

Items will have multiple URLs, but Virtuemart already handle well this situation by providing canonical tags to one single "main" page. That's how this situation should be handled from an SEO standpoint.

I know nothing about canonical tags, could you tell me I have them in my version joomla and virtuemart?

Long time ago I had old version sh404SEF v2.5.0.1040 I made a configuration of url "name-of-manufacturer/name-of-item". I had a lot of dublicates in some time and url was not correct. Name of manufacturer in url was right and many many wrong urls. If I install new version now the story will not repeat?

Hi

You should definitely learn about canonical tags, they're a fundamental element of SEO.

I have no idea what happened on your old site, if sh404SEF was involved in the problem or not and I can't tell what will happen with your site. We can only talk about specific cases. i can only say we don't have any bug related to Virtuemart filed at the moment.
