Hello. I plan to purchase 4SEO. Please tell me how to switch from sh404SEF (version 4.8.2.3492) to 4SEO without consequences. Please send a link or video with step by step instructions on how to do it

Hi

There's plenty of documentation for that, please just read the documentation ( 4SEF, 4SEO) and watch videos on the 4SEF and 4SEO products information pages.

Note that:

 - 4SEO does not handle SEF URLs. It has many SEO features, more than sh404SEF but not SEF URLs. 4SEO can import metadata and redirects from sh404SEF. Some sh404SEF features do not exist in 4SEO, for instance sharing buttons or automatica page title for Joomla articles.

- 4SEF only does SEF URLs. It will usually generate the same SEF URLs as sh404SEF. It can import custom SEF URLs from sh404SEF. Note that if you are using 3rd-party extensions on your site, and they have dedicated sh404SEF plugins, these plugins will not work with 4SEF and their developers need to update them to the 4SEF format.

 without consequences.

This is not an upgrade. 4SEF and 4SEO are different extensions than sh404SEF and while they can import data from it, they will not always behave in the exact same way. For sites using only Joomla content, there should be no problem (with the exceptions mentioned above), for sites with 3rd-party extensions, you need to check on a case by case basis.

Needless to say, you must do this migration on a test copy of the site to test and make required adjustments.

Best regards
