I am trying to update our Joomla 3 websites with sh404sef to Joomla 6, and would like to know when and HOW to delete sh404sef completly.
Is it when still in Joomla 3 after having imported in 4SEF and 4SEO?

1. Please make sure to post in the proper support category, sh404SEF, 4SEF or 4SEO, you're in the "SEOInfo and other extensions"
2. All joomla 3 extensions must be uninstalled before you try to upgrade to Joomla 4. This includes sh404SEF, which is a Joomla 3 extension.
If you have any Joomla 3 extension left in a Joomla 4 or higher site, you will get PHP fatal errors.
3. would like to know when and HOW to delete sh404sef completly.
You uninstallit like any other extension, using the Joomla standard procedure. This is all fully documented on sh404SEF documentation here.
Of course, you should only uninstall it after you have migrated to 4SEF+4SEO and your site is fully working as expected.
