Can't connect to Google Search Console as I keep getting a 403 code.   (See Below)

Chances are this is a security issue, I need to know how this connection between my site & Google Search Console is being done?  Is it by a bot? My site uses Cloudflare & RS Firewall for security.

The more details about the connection the better, so I can whitelist things. Thanks Brandon

Hi

Our Oauth Server sends a POST request to your server and it was denied access (403). The request is coming from weeblr.com.

Indeed if your site is normally online, it's likely RSFirewall or Cloudflare blocking things.

I was able to get everything to work.  To connect to Google Search Console - I had to make the following adjustments with Clouldflare - my site uses The Pro Version of Cloudflare

  1. Whitelisted your IP Address
  2. Made sure the cache level was set to standard
  3. Switch Definitely automated Bots to Allow

Hi

Thanks for these details. I'm not familiar with the Pro version of cloudflare but I will look up these settings.

The need for an intermediary "proxy" comes from the extreme complexity of creating a "Google App", which is required to access the Search Console API. Very few people are able to do that, and using an intermediary server running at weeblr.com is what allows the "one-click" connection workflow that we have.

Hopefully this won't happen too often, but I think I'll add a specific entry about this to the documentation troubleshooting section.

Thanks again for reposting everything here!
