Hi

Refering to ticket https://weeblr.com/helpdesk/4seo/8925-some-errors-with-admin-panel I decided to use 4SEF without importing any data from sh404sef.

All 4SEF urls are now structured the way I want them to be with the suffix .html.

But if I now analyze the pages with 4SEO, I get broken links ending with .html.html from all pages that do not show any categories, status 200, type internal redirect.

I just started the analysis again. Therefore not all pages are analyzed at the moment.

I haven't formulated a rule for a redirect yet.

And I have no idea where the many redirects from the article and tag pages that end in duplicate .html come from.

Please see screenshots attached.

Feel free to use the following admin access if needed:

User: [redacted]

PW: [redacted]

Best regards,

Christian

Hi

But if I now analyze the pages with 4SEO, I get broken links ending with .html.html from all pages that do not show any categories, status 200, type internal redirect.

That means 4SEO found one or more links on some pages with .html.html and also that something redirected them. So to understand the problem, please:

- select one such redirect

- open the list of pages it was found on, and pick one

- copy/paste this URL here (in full)

- Do you see the double html thing?

- do you get redirected when you click on that faulty link?

But if I now analyze the pages with 4SEO, I get broken links ending with .html.html from all pages that do not show any categories, status 200, type internal redirect.

I just started the analysis again. Therefore not all pages are analyzed at the moment.

I assume you Cleared the analysis in between?

Hi

OK I selected this one:

abiturloesungen-mathematik-bayern/mathematik-abitur-bayern-2015/pruefungsteil-a/analysis-1/teilaufgabe-5b.html.html

There are various categories of pages listed that link to them. This is one of them:

http://www.[redacted].net/abiturloesungen-mathematik-bayern/mathematik-beispiel-abitur-bayern-2014/pruefungsteil-b/geometrie-2/

When I click on it the correct page of this category link opens.

I'd like to say that the list of category links thematically doesn't make any sense no matter which redirect I choose. I want to say that I did not create these links myself.

I started the page analysis once again to see if the redirects happen again. And yes, I have cleared it before.

Best regards,

Christian

Hi

So I visited:

http://www.[redacted].net/abiturloesungen-mathematik-bayern/mathematik-beispiel-abitur-bayern-2014/pruefungsteil-b/geometrie-2/

And I clicked on the first button, labelled: "Lösung zu Teilaufgabe a". The link is:

http://www.[redacted].net/abiturloesungen-mathematik-bayern/mathematik-beispiel-abitur-bayern-2014/pruefungsteil-b/geometrie-2/teilaufgabe-a.html.html

When I click on that link, I am redirected to /index.php

This means the page is actually a 404. The reason you are redirected to /index.php (that's the redirect 4SEO is seeing), is because you are in offline mode. When in offline mode, for some reason, Joomla redirect to the home page (you can try with anything, http://www.[redacted].net/jfhsdjkfhsdjkfhsd).

So these pages are 404 - which sounds normal. Have you fully cleared all Joomla cache after you enabled 4SEF and/or changed settings?

Hi

Site is still in development therefore offline.

Yes I can reproduce that. All item links like „Lösung zu Teilaufgabe a" are redirected to /index.php. And I have wondered abou this but now I understand.

I cleared the cache always after I did changes to built 4SEF urls with regular labs cache cleaner.

The robots.txt exceptions are set to be ignored to analyse pages despite of offline mode.

Is it possible to analyse pages in offline mode without getting the redirects? I would like to revise the titles and meta data and also create and check redirects before my actual with k2 running live site will be replaced by this relaunch (without k2).

Best regards,

Christian

Hi

Is it possible to analyse pages in offline mode without getting the redirects?

4SEO will analyze the same in offline mode or normal mode.

The redirects are not the problem here. You get a redirect instead of a 404, but you still see there's a problem.

Whether it's a 404 or a redirect, the page is not working and so you can't do anything with it, 4SEO cannot analyze it.

The question is why do you get double html, that's the only question to work on.

For instance, have you enabled Add suffix in Joomla? I would suggest disabling it if so, purge cache, reload that page and see if you still have double .html in links.

Hi

Yes, I disabled add suffix in joomla and now the pages no longer have double .html in links.

Once again thank you very much!

Best regards,

Christian

Hi

Just to mention that this was an issue on Joomla 4 and I have just uploaded a development version which properly handles the Joomla suffix setting. You can get it from the development versions download area as usual.
