I just purchased 4seo, and it immediately failed on the first configuration option.

It's asking me if the website is public. I answer YES, and get the following message:

Cannot save configuration. There was an error trying to save configuration to the server. Please reload the page or try again later.

Details: View developer tools console for details.

I don't know what the developer tools console is, so that is no help at all.
FYI - The site previously used SH404SEF

I have contacted my webhost, and asked them to take a look at mod_security.
They have said the following, and attached the following file:
(I'm not sure what next steps to take. It's all a bit beyond me)

I have checked the mod_securty logs on the server and I could confirm that your plugin is not blocked.

I was able to recreate the reported issue and it is caused by the following error generated by your application:

https://tinyurl.com/22huag9m

You should check your application libraries and make sure that the error in question is resolved in order for the function of your plugin. to work as expected.

In case you are not sure how to do this, you should contact the vendors of your application or a web developer who would be able to assist you further.

Issue is now solved.
I uninstalled all the Koowa related plugins. I have no idea what they did, and they had been installed on our website for many years before I took over managing the website.
Uninstalling the Koowa plugins seemed to allow 4sef to be configured correctly.

Hi

Glad you figured it out. Indeed there are a few extensions that "grab" 4SEO, 4SEF and 4AI requests to the server and breaks them. The is a bug and it can be fixed simply but the extensions makers have to do it.

Fortunately, there are very few. WidgetKit by YooTheme was one of them as described here, but they fixed the problem with a new release with a couple of months after reporting.

I don't think JoomlaTools has done that yet but they have been informed several months ago now and know exactly what they need to fix.

Closing this ticket now, feel free to open a new one as needed. If you do so, please mention this ticket number in the new one.

If you created any superadmin account for us, be sure to delete or block it now to avoid unnecessary risk in the future.
