We're pleased to announce the release of 4Analytics version 6.2.0. This is a feature and maintenance release, compatible with Joomla 3 through 6 without a compatibility plugin.
Here are the highlights:
Visitor locations now show Unknown and Other separately; they were all showing under Unknown until now.
Added support for the new utm_source parameter from Gemini apps. Gemini traffic should now be identified more accurately.
Aggregate data rebuilding is now done in small batches and can accommodate the largest datasets.
The minimum data retention duration is now 13 months to avoid the risk of breaking current-period data collection.
Small improvements to the Geo database download, which will now retry if it fails.
Data retention policy was not applied. Fixed and improved.
Lists of campaign media and sources are truncated at 50 characters instead of allowing ten 20-character items.
When installing a new version on a site using an external analytics database, a message could be displayed on the installation page (with no actual impact).

We're pleased to announce the release of 4Analytics version 6.1.0. This is a feature and maintenance release, compatible with Joomla 3 to 6 without a compatibility plugin.
It also accompanies updates to the AI analysis service, now using a more recent AI model and improved data processing and prompting.
Here are the highlights:
AI analysis now computes and sends a short historical baseline dataset, to better identify up or down trends
Provide more data to the AI analysis: breakdown of views and referrer by source (search, ai, social,...). Also increase precision, duration down to the seconds and percentage down to 0.1%
Old signature format for emailed report links are now rejected (were replaced by new format in version 5.0.2)
Common extra query variables (fbclid,...) were not stripped from stored URLs if the 'Only Path' option was disabled in tracking rule parameters (not the default)
Possible javascript fatal error in the admin after moving a website from one host to another
Sometimes emailed reports can be sent even if there's no data for that period
Accessibility: H2 titles on printed reports, and subtitles on "half-doughnut" charts are WCAG 2.2 AA instead of AAA
At very low width, half-doughnut charts can overflow the page horizontally

It introduces support for campaigns. Here are the highlights:
Added support for campaigns. Define campaigns with medium and source variables. Include campaign variables in URLs on social media, in newsletters, ads, QR codes, etc.
Added a URL builder, including a QR code generator, to easily insert campaign variables into any URL. Download or copy/paste the QR code into other apps. Copy URLs to share links on social media or in newsletters.
In-app reports now have an animated toolbar that reduces its size when scrolling down to offer more space for actual content.
Reject invalid URLs before processing them rather than after, saving time.
Now using a more secure HMAC signature for emailed report access verification. Reports from the last 60 days are still accepted.
Now using a dialog element for most dialogs.
Default accent color is now purple instead of blue.
Fixed a small layout shift in the tab switcher when navigating to or from the "When to run" tab.
Accessibility: Table header cells with no visible title now have an indication of their content.
Accessibility: Fixed the Copy Image button in the URL & QR code tool, which did not properly announce that the image had been copied.

We're announcing the release of 4Analytics version 5.0.2. This is is a security release, compatible with Joomla 3 to 6 without compatibility plugin.
Emergency update is required for all 4Analytics installations.
It fixes 2 critical vulnerabilities in all prior versions of 4Analytics:
[Critical] Stored XSS. A specially crafted unauthenticated request may result in website takeover under some circumstances (CVE-2026-57833)
[low risk, high severity] Set Markdown to HTML conversion to safe mode, in the event AI analysis would mention an attacker URL (stored XSS) (CVE-2026-58077)
