We're pleased to announce the release of 4AI version 7.0.0. This is is a feature release, focusing on integrating the latest Nano Banana image generation model and compatible with Joomla 3 to 6 without compatibility plugin.

Here are the highlights:

  • Added support for Google Nano Banana image model. Includes creating images and modifying them repeatedly. Also modify images available in articles, not generated with AI.
  • Added support for OpenAI GPT 5.4, 5.4-mini and 5.4-nano models
  • Added enforcement of deprecations for Gemini 2.0 (June 1st, 2026), 2.5 (June 17, July 22, 2026) and 2.5 image (October 2, 2026)
  • Generated image preview now has a button to view image full screen
