Is their a way to edit the Non-SEF url in the backend sh404SEF?

Newly created K2 Items are not automatically appending the Itemid to Non-SEF url's

Hey guys, for some reason when I create a new K2 Item under any of the K2 categories and save it, the Itemid is not getting appended to the Non-SEF url.

Good Example: (What I want and the way is as been)
This is a normal Non-SEF url : index.php?option=com_k2&Itemid=714&id=598&lang=en& view=item
And here is what the URL looks like: http://www.xxxx.com/artist/mrjorie-cruzat (***notice that the sidebar and aside 1 & aside 2 are visible***)

Bad Example: (What is happening and I don't want)
This k2 Item was added today and is what's happening now to the Non-SEF url : index.php?option=com_k2&id=2212&lang=en&view=item (***notice that the &Itemid=714 is missing*** )

And here is what the URL looks like: http://www.xxxx.com/artist/remi-odunsi-mua (***notice that the sidebar and aside 1 & aside 2 are missing because the &Itemid=714 was not automatically appended to the Non-SEF url when it was saved.****)

The only solution that I found to resolve this is to manually add the missing itemid to the specific item via the database.

Do you know why this is happening and how I can fix it.

Thank you
Joseph

Hi,

We need to inspect you current configuration, could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

Regards

Hi
Is their a way to edit the Non-SEF url in the backend sh404SEF?

Nope, because that doesn't make any sense. Non-sef URL are not created by sh404SEF, they are created by Joomla or whatever component or module you use to display things on your site.

In your example, even if you would create/modify a URL with the correct Itemid in the database, you will soon see the previous one (without Itemid) again in the database.
Because your modules or components have again supplied sh404SEF with a no-Itemid non-sef URL.

The only way to really fix your problem is to find what extension is creating some bad links( without an Itemid) and correct the problem at the source.

AS briefly suggested by Dimitris, sh404SEF has an option to try mitigate this problem of modules and components not inserting menu ids in non-sef URLs:

It may help mitigate the problem, but automatically inserting an Itemid means the wrong Itemid can be inserted (as we have no way to know what the "good" one is). I suggest you try that, but again the only way to fix is to find what extension produces those bad links and fix them.

Rgds
