Hi,
I have a simple one page demo yacht website that I would like to optimise for search engines

http://www.xxxx.com/

However the site is also accessible through http://www.xxxx.com/home

the non sef urls are
main
index.php?option=com_content&id=1&lang=en&view=article

duplicate
index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=101&catid=2&id=1&lang=en&view=article

When i remove the links the appear again later...

How can i redirect
http://www.xxxx.com/home
to
http://www.xxxx.com
??

Hi

Most likely this link is created by some plugin on the site, and not used or displayed. I ran linkchecker against your site and it cannot find a '/home' link used at any point, so I'd say you're pretty safe from an SEO standpoint.

You can always add "home" as an alias of the home page if you really, really want to be sure, but it'd be more secure to find where that link comes from and remove it. Unfortunately, without stepping through Joomla code, that maybe hard to do.

Again, that link doesn't show on your site, so that shouldn't be a problem.

How can I do this? In url manager? New SEF URL / (for homepage) doesn't work.
The homepage itselve is never in the list in URL manager is it?

Hi

There's a dedicated button for the home page, visible on most pages in the backend. Please see this page in the documentation.
