 Hi,

In the analtytics section of sh404SEF I have excluded my own IP addresses. As I recall sh404SEF did not put the analytics snippet in place when visiting the site from one of these excluded ip's.

For some reason the snippet is placed, wether I exclude my own IP or not. Data is send to Google, since I can see myself as a realtime visitor.

Any suggestions on this?

Best regards,

Joep

Hi

I can't reproduce this, it works fine for me.

1 - What are your exact and full Joomla and sh404SEF versions?
2 - What's th full site URL?
3 - Are you using any sort of caching on the site?
4 - Are you sure the snippet is added by sh404SEF? ie is it marked with "<!-- Google Analytics Universal snippet -->"?

Hi,

It used to work fine. Apart from regular updates I haven't changed anything to the stucture of the site.

Joomla: 3.8.3
sh404SEF: 4.13.1.3756

Site concerned: https://www.xxxx.com

I use standard Joomla cache and SiteGround's cache mechanisms. Besides that I use Scriptmerge. Cleared all cache, bu that did not make a difference. Disabling these options did not make a difference. Even took a clean browser with an empty cache, but that still loads the snippet.

<!-- Google Analytics Universal snippet -->
<script type='text/javascript'>
var sh404SEFAnalyticsType = sh404SEFAnalyticsType || [];
sh404SEFAnalyticsType.universal = true;

(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

ga('create', 'UA-19724446-1','auto');
ga('require', 'displayfeatures');
ga('require', 'linkid');
ga('send', 'pageview');
</script>
<!-- End of Google Analytics Universal snippet -->

In case you need backend access, I already ha a superuser account for you.

pwd: xxxx

Hi

I have logged in and I can see this happening. I have also reproduced this on another server, while I can't on our usual test servers, so it has to do with PHP configuration most likely. I will investigate locally to try identify the issue and get back to you quickly.

Hi

I did more research and this is indeed linked to the server setup (especially SG usage of front end caching). I have made some changes to better detect IP addresses in that case, and installed the latest dev version on your site. It seems to be fixed now but please do your own testing.

Hi,

Problem is solved. Grreat support, thank you very much! You can close this ticket.

I will need sh404SEF on another site shortly. It's on the same server. Will these changes be available in a new version in the download section shortly?

Best regards,

Joep

Hi

You can definitely use the current dev version. It is basically an on-going "stable" version and is the one that will be published as the next official "stable" version.

It used to work fine.
It was not possible that it worked on the same hosting configuration. Did you change host recently?

Hi,

I was 1000% convinced it was working ok at the end of 2016. But now you put me in doubt. I didn't change the hosting company. However, I do know SiteGround is constantly improving their servers. Since then they have done a lot, but I don't know all details. But never mind, it's working now and that is great.

I'm fine with the dev version. Where can I download it to install on another site?

And one fimnal question. I just noticed sh404SEF Importer in the download section. What does it do? Do you have any documentation about this?

Best regards,

Joep

It is a separate plugin that can import data from JoomSEF and MijoSef, when moving from one of those extensions to sh404SEF.
