 Hello sh404sef,

We have noticed that on one of the url's https://xxxx.com/en/ there is noindex, follow. We searched everywhere and even manually set the menu item on index, follow. But it stays on noindex, follow.

The other strange thing is that if you are on the dutch home menu and want to switch to the English menu through the flags this url appears on the home menu.

https://xxxx.com/en/content-en/home-en

And if you switch back to Dutch the home menu becomes

https://xxxx.com/nl/content-nl/home

Don't know if this is related to the problem.

It is also impossible to switch sh404sef off. We get a 404 then on https://xxxx.com/en/

How can we get https://xxxx.com/en/ on index, follow?

Kind regards,
Raoul

Hi

1 -
The other strange thing is that if you are on the dutch home menu and want to switch to the English menu through the flags this url appears on the home menu.

https://xxxx.com/en/content-en/home-en

And if you switch backt Dutch the home menu becomes

https://xxxx.com/nl/content-nl/home
That means your Joomla multilingual setup is incorrect. Ie the "home" menu items are not set as "Default" for their respective languages. You need to fix your ML menu structure and then purge URLs so that the correct ones are recreated.

I would actually suggest you purge URLs first: you may have not done so after making changes to your menus when creating the website, and that would be an issue.

Unless you have explicitely asked it to add a noindex, follow tag in your pages (from the SEF URL manager), sh404SEF cannot do that, it's something else on your site.

Hello Weeblr,

I see no strange things in the set up? Can you login to see if i'm correct?

I also want to know why I can't disable sh404sef? The English home menu gives a 404 when you disable sh404sef.

Well when sh404SEF is disabled, it does not do anything, so such issue would be related to your site setup, and I would not kno wabout it. That would be another indication of an incorrect multilingual setup.

Once you have a fully working multilingual setup, including the /en/ or any other language you want to use, you can then:

- Purge URLs
- Enable back URL optimization.

Hello Weeblr,

If you want to login please first pass the firewall;

username > xxxx
password > xxxx

Then for access to the administrator;

username > xxxx
password > xxxx

As you can see in the screenshot the multi language set up must be good.

HI

As you can see in the screenshot the multi language set up must be good.

If you cannot access /en/ - without sh404SEF, then something is not working. Which is why I asked that you first have a fully working Ml setup.

Once the site is properly working without sh404SEF, we can then see what's happening with sh404SEF.

Hi

Credentials are not valid (the HTTP basic auth creds are good but not the Joomla account ones)

Hi

The multilingual problem is not solved: disabling sh404SEF cause the /en/ page to trigger 404. Which means that /en/ page is broken by something on your site

Once you've fixed that page without sh404SEF enabled, everything will go back to normal.

PS: URL source recording is enabled. Is this on purpose? this debugging feature should not be left enabled on production sites, you can easily get very large amount of data stored in the database
