Hello,

Firstly, appologize for my little english...so I will try to explain my need step by step.

In virtuemart, I have a caterory name "barres-proteinees" and 1 product of this category name is "barres-proteinees-number1".

How setting I should have for sh404SEF to get exactly this kind of urls after "click":
1) for categor "barres-proteinees":
domainname.com/fr/barres-proteinees/

2) for the product named "barres-proteinees-number1":
domainname.com/fr/barres-proteinees/barres-proteinees-number1.html

...Because with my actual sh404SEF setting, i got suffixe ".html" at every url.

That suffix is on or off, the Virtuemart plugin will not make a difference for categories or other URLs.

Please note that on a new site, we do not recommend usinsg .html suffix.

my site is not "new"...i have an old joomla 1.5/virtuemart 1x and I'm try to build a new one with with joomla 3x and virtuemart 3x

No, what you ask for is not possible. If the a file suffix is set in sh404SEF settings, ALL URLs from Virtuemart will have the suffix. Categories AND product pages will all have .html.

No it has strictly no importance. And because ".html" has no meaning, it's considered better to remove it because it's just wasted space.

You should never do that. This is a very common but very bad SEO mistake. If your URLs do not exist anymore, you should have a 404. A 404 is good and is what let search engines update their index.

sh404SEF has a very good 404 error page. It displays all the menu and modules or your site, and offers the visitor an explanation of what happens, and also similar URLs to the one it used before.

If you want to redirect some pages, then redirect a product OLD URL to its new URL. But NOT to the home page.

The documentation describes how to set redirects on this page (and the next pages as well).
