We installed and updated to the most current version of sh404sef. After following the install directions, things seem to be working fine. I was in the process of creating some aliases for pages when all of a sudden I can't access the admin panels. The only one that seems to load is the main control panel, but all of the links give me the "page request not found". Has anyone else run into this?

Hi

1 - What do you mean by "control panel"? the Joomla administration, or only some of sh404SEF panels?
2 - "page request not found" is this your server error page? or you see this inside a Joomla display?

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

Thanks and regards

Any page other than the main joomla administration control panel, gives me the sh404sef 404 error page message. I can't access anything on the back end of the site. I've included a screenshot.

Unfortunately, that means I can't create a user. I might be able to create one through phpMyAdmin, but that might take some doing.

Hi

Oh I see. That looks like you have a problem in your .htaccess. sh404SEF is not active in the backend so clicking on those links and getting into the front end (where sh404SEF displays an error page) means your .htaccess file does not allow access to the administration page.

Have you modified it? I would suggest you rename it back to htaccess.txt, or revert the changes you made.

Found the issue! Thanks for the direction though. Somehow the .htaccess file was duplicated and had a conflict. Strange how that happened, but seems to be working now.

Thank you!

Hi

Glad to hear that. Closing this ticket now, feel free to open a new one as needed. If you do so, please mention this ticket number in the new one.

If you created any superadmin account for us, be sure to delete or block it now to avoid unnecessary risk in the future.

Be sure to also check out wbAMP, our new Accelerated Mobiles pages plugin for Joomla - the next big thing is SEO, direct from Google themselves!
