sh404SEF social buttons always display in 'frontpage' view, i.e. homepage even "Only on canonical pages" is set to 'YES'. I have tried to create a custom layout, wrapper.php in templates directory, with if $this->componentView == 'featured' then do nothing with no success. Hiding div of the social buttons can be done but still significantly increases loading time since the script is still called to render those buttons.

Some plugins are success to avoid displaying social buttons on the frontpage, however, shURL of sh404SEF is great with its own plugin. Please guide me to stop the plugin to be created on the frontpage and category page.

Hi

1 - I would suggest you revert any custom layouts you made. If there are custom layouts, everything is changed and we cannot test properly and provide support.

2 - When you have disabled all your custom layouts, please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

Hi

I don't see this problem happening on your site. I have disabled Fast Content share and enabled sh404SEF social buttons. Then reloaded your home page: no social button were displayed. Then loaded one of the articles and the social buttons are there.

Please advise.

PS: I have disabled back sh404SEF and re-enabled Fast social share, to restore your initial configuration.

Thanks for your visit. Actually I have my custom css to hide div.sh404sef-social-buttons element on the home page. I have disabled that css.

Can you come again and see that the plugin loads each element with social buttons set. This only applies to articles of content component with frontpage view, not to another modules that also display articles below those in top of the homepage.

Indeed I can see that now. I can't explain, I will have to look at the code and investigat further. Unfortunately, we are on holiday starting today, so I won't be able to do that right away. Could you keep your CSS on for a while, until sept. 8 next week?

Hi

I digged into the code, and found that this is how it was programmed: we indeed decided at some point to show social buttons on view=featured, even when "only canonical" was enabled. This does not seem correct, so I have reverted that. You can download the current development version from the development versions download area, it should fix your issue.
