After installing and configuring the Google Analytics property ID, as well as receiving the "You're authorized :)" next to the Google authorization box, for some reason it is still not connecting properly.

"Error connecting to Google Analytics: Could not connect to analytics server (not available, or no account configured ? are cURL and SSL enabled in your phpinfo ?)
Invalid account Id fetching accounts list"

Attached is a screenshot of the Basic Configuration.

Can you please advise?

Hi

This would happen when you completed the authorization procedure, but with the wrong Google account. For instance, if you are logged in to your regular GMail account while starting the authorization procedure, then Google doesn't prompt you to choose the account to use for the authorization procedure. If the Google Analytics account is attached to another Google account, then the authorization succeeds, but you don't have the right to access the analytics data.

You should clear authorization and redo it, using the correct Google account.

I verified the correct account (which was used before) and tried again.

This did not resolve the issue; please see attached screenshots.

Hi

A bit confused: this site doesn't have analytics set up. At least, there is no property ID visible in the source code of the home page.
Also, your screenshot actually doesn't show the property id.

So:

1 - What is the property ID used?
2 - Is it the same as the propert ID entered in sh404SEF config?
3 - As per the message, is CURL and SSL installed on the server?
4 - Lastly, I have seen about a couple of times that your hosting company firewall is interfering, can you ask?

Please see the attached screenshots.

1. property ID: UA-3054987-5 (when this is saved by sh404SEF, it changes to 3054987-5 - see screenshots)

2. yes

3. I do not believe SSL is installed on the server. Must it be?
Where do I verify if CURL is installed?
(we host with Media Temple, so I can verify)

4. what should I ask?

Hi

(when this is saved by sh404SEF, it changes to 3054987-5 - see screenshots)
well, there lies the problem. If using the wrong Property ID, things can't work.

Now why in the world this would happen? No idea, I have never seen that. I tested again in case it was not weird new thing in J 3.6.0, but can't reproduce.

Do you have a test version of the site, on another hosting company or on your local machine? do you have akeeba backup installed?

(3 & 4 are now moot, problem is wrong Property ID)

Already then!

Attached is what we have for Akeeba Backup... (not sure it is configured correctly, or if it shouldn't be deleted).

Is Akeeba Backup a conflict to sh404SEF?
Friday, 29 July 2016 15:22 UTC
wb_weeblr
Hi

No, Akeeba is a backup extension, the best in town. It lets you easily take a full backup of a site, and then restore it on some other server with only a few clicks. This is what we use everywhere to backup users sites, and then restore that backup on a local machine to find identify issues that can be understood just looking at the site itself.
I was asking because as this issue (ID stripped during save) is unknown, it must be linked to a specific environment. Either the hosting, another extension, security or similar, etc
So a good way to test that is just to make a backup, restore on another server and see if the problem still occurs.

You don't seem to be familiar with that so I can login ( as a superadmin) and do the backup and restore on my local machine. This is assuming the site is not too large, ie videos are stored somewhere else of course

I'd be happy for you to take a look, and yes, all the videos are stored on a CDN.

Can you send me an email address to use for your User?

Hi

cant' login: [xxxx]

No indication whatsoever. Do you have some kind of security system? IP restriction ?

I mean, I can login, the credentials are good, but when the main page loads, there is that error 500.

I'm not sure what has caused that page not to display properly, but if you got to it, just click on any link and you will see the Administrator UI.

Ah, I didn't try that! Is this usual?

Hi

I have entered "UA-3054987-5" as the web property ID, Saved and re-open and it seems to persist fine. Did you enter the property ID yourself or did you find it like that?
Please redo the authorization procedure now, with the correct property ID

Well, that did it!

Not sure what the difference was, but it appears to be working now!

Awesome! Thanks so much!

Not sure what the difference was,

Well the Property ID was incorrect. It was "3054987-5" instead of "UA-3054987-5"

I was entering "UA-3054987-5"

Something was causing it to change to "3054987-5" once saved.

Hi

OK. Well, I only entered it once, and it stuck like that. If you put that together with your admin home page rendering only partially (and maybe the xxxx.net site not rendering always - assuming it's on the same hosting), there's something really weird going on there!

Hello again...

Re: http://www.xxxx.com

I reviewed the Customizer / Edit Global Javascript settings and found that precise code.

I deleted and it didn't seem to cause any issue.

I believe that may have been there quite a while before we were using JW Platform, which requires no additional code other than the embed code for each video on a page or post.

Could you please test and see if you agree with this.

Hi

Indeed the error is gone now, however the video is still not displayed, as your CDN gives a 403 on the video file.:

[xxxx]

so this would indicate they are not allowing access from this location.

Hi

Good to hear you're on top of it now. Closing this ticket now, feel free to open a new one as needed. If you do so, please mention this ticket number in the new one.

If you created any superadmin account for us, be sure to delete or block it now to avoid unnecessary risk in the future.
