 DEar Sir, Madam,

We have created a new template ( Themler ) but if we activate sh404sef the FrontPage is working fine, the other pages creates a bad karma / 404 page but the link looks good.

What are we doing wrong? ( with the old template no problems )

Greetings from a Sunny Netherlands!

Hi & Greetings from southwestern France where we enjoy a nice 39°C this afternoon ;)

This is the 404 error page. So it seems your server, .htaccess file or something else is not working properly and you get 404. You should:

1 - Disable sh404SEF (by setting Enable URL optimization to No), then make sure Joomla SEF is on in Joomla configuration and check whether you get also 404 for non-homepage pages
2 - are you suggesting that the new template breaks, but the old one was working fine, with everything else, including sh404SEF the same?
3-
but the link looks good.
What does that mean? are they the same as before switching to the new template?

Dear,

Thanks for the very fast reply!

1 - Disable sh404SEF (by setting Enable URL optimization to No), then make sure Joomla SEF is on in Joomla configuration and check whether you get also 404 for non-homepage pages
RICT OH> Everyhing then works fine. ( https://www.xxxx.nl/particulieren )

2 - are you suggesting that the new template breaks, but the old one was working fine, with everything else, including sh404SEF the same?
RICT OH> that's right.

3- but the link looks good.
RICT OH> with sh404sef on ( same url , https://www.xxxx.nl/particulieren ) it breaks and get the bad karma page. ( https or http give te same result )

Greetings,
Oscar

Hi

RICT OH> with sh404sef on ( same url , https://www.xxxx.nl/particulieren
Euh but with sh404SEF, usually the link is not going to be the same. Did you hardcode the SEF links in your template? that cannot work. Links in Joomla should be non-sef.

For instance, talking about that link that's available under the Particulieren menu item:
- how did you create it in your menu item?
- if you disable both sh404SEF and Joomla SEF, what does the link becomes?
(it should be something like index.php?option=com_content...)
