Hello,
I have a sef url named 'create-an-account' and that has two non-sef duplicates. Currently the main url is 'index.php?option=com_comprofiler&lang=en&task=registers', I tried to change this main to 'index.php?option=com_comprofiler&Itemid=558&lang=en&view=registers' in order to assign the menu item number to this page. But for some reason, the change can be made only temporally. I purged the record and re-enter this page, the previous main url keep returning.
Any suggestion?

If you purge URLs, every "Main URL selection you made is discarded. In your regular site operation, URLs should basically never been purged.

what do you mean? You manually created a link?

the previous main url keep returning.

non-sef URLs are created by Joomla, they will always come back. One of the jobs of sh404SEF is to fight that, and make sure the outside world, including search engines, only see one single URL. Have you read the "Duplicate URLs" management section of the documentation?

The site is in development stage so menu items are still created or deleted. I used Purge whenever I changed the menu items, did not noticed until now that it wiped out the duplicates' main selection.

Hi

Duplicates' main selection are deleted when you purge, as they relate to those URLs, and maybe/probably not to the newly created ones, after you changed some settings.

In you do only minor changes, you may also only delete a limited set of URLs, by selecting them and using the Delete or Delete with duplicates button on the URL manager toolbar.
