Hello,

How do I redirect https://xxxx.com/index.php to https://xxxx.com?

Thanks.

Hi

you don't, it's almost guaranteed problems with redirect loops and such. This should be handled automatically; Which version of sh404SEF do you have?

I now see that I have to update but the update doesn't work from the backend.

Hi

That's possible if you haven't entered your access and secret key.

Hi

Please read the documenation I linked to. There are access key and secret key to auto update.

As for:
Joomla settings are probably not correct
It means your Joomla configuration is not according to our documentation. It can be:

- you have Joomla SEF URL disabled
- you have enabled "URL suffix" in Joomla global confguration, but not in sh404SEF, or vice versa.

As the message very clearly says "this is not a problem for sh404SEF but some poorly coded extensions may not work well".

Well, I didn't change ANYTHING in the settings. SEF URL is enabled and I installed no other extension since the upgrade.

This error just showed up after the upgrade so it beats me cause I can't find anything and still don't know how to redirect the index.php page.

Please help me solve this issue.

Hi

1 -
This error just showed up after the upgrade so it beats me cause I can't find anything

Absolutely. The problem was there before, and we simply added a message in last version, so that more people were aware of it. Before that, it was only written in the documentation, but of course few people read the documenation.

I think I very clearly explained what this error means:

- you have Joomla SEF URL disabled
- you have enabled "URL suffix" in Joomla global confguration, but not in sh404SEF, or vice versa.

Fix this and the message will go away.

2 -
still don't know how to redirect the index.php page
I hoped my first answer was simple and clear as well: you do not have a problem. There's nothing to fix. Do not do anything, you're just going to break things.

The /index.php page has a canonical tag on it, which is exactly meant to solve this "problem". The canonical tag is added automatically for you by sh404SEF. Please, just do nothing more about this.
