After upgrade to version 4.7 I was no longe able to access my website. Everything blank. After turning error reporting to maximum, I found that there were errors in the sh404sef component. (It has something to do with a language). So I decided to uninstall the component to install the new version afterwards. I am able to uninstall everything exept the administrator component. When I do this I get:
Fatal error: Class 'Sh404sefClassConfig' not found in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/120528/webspace/siteapps/joomla-11564/htdocs/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/shSEFConfig.class.php on line 16

So what to do?

How to uninstall everything manually?
Or how to fix this error?

Kind regards

Wolfgang

Hi

(It has something to do with a language).
What was the exact message?
(It has something to do with a language). So I decided to uninstall the component to install the new version afterwards.
Very bad idea.
I am able to uninstall everything exept the administrator component.
Extremely bad idea. As clearly explained in the documentation, you should absolutely and only uninstall the "Administrator component".
Now you have various pieces of sh404SEF installed and some missing. Of course, it fails.

The only way to go from now is to install again sh404SEF over the old one. This should restore the missing pieces and should allow you get to get to the initial state. Then we can handle the "language" error.

What's your Joomla version?

Hi

Thanks for the quick response. It seems that there was a permission problem. So after resetting the permissions I was now able to install Version 4.7 and ist is working too.

No more language errors.

So from my point of view, it was a permission problem after upgrade of the joomla system.

Thanks for the fast reply.

Kind regards

Wolfgang

Hi

Glad to hear that. I was a bit worried cause there's really nothing in sh404SEF that can cause this, except if some files of the extension are missing in the installer package. However this was unlikely as I would have gotten many other tickets with that problem.

Regardless, please note that you don't want to uninstall manually, by removing the bits and pieces, because there are too many. At least you should talk to us first.

All the best
