After using your componet a lot of pages on my site have new addresses. But google still shows a lot of errors ( webmaster tools ), I sent them a new site map, new page addresses are not indexed, old are indexed but not working.

Hi

Yes URLs change when you install a SEF extension. Hence the need to put in place a redirect strategy if your old URLs are already indexed by search engines, as per the documentation.

Changing about 200 URL is a big job, how long must I wait for google to reindex my page ? Can I speed up this process ?

Hi

It shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks, but there is no way to tell, and it can last longer. It depends a lot on your backlinks.

1 - You can submit a sitemap, this will help
2 - you don't have to redirect 200 URLs. What you have to do is go to Google Search console and identify say the top 20 or 30 URLs, those that bring in the most traffic.
For those, you use the 404 manager in sh404SEF to setup redirect. It should be pretty quick as the manager searches the database for you to find similar URL.

Manager don't find similiar links for a lot of my pages. My site is www.xxxx.com.pl. For example:

baza-wiedzy/34-dude-uwagi

should be redirected to

baza-wiedzy/sieci/dude/dude-uwagi

I can give this link as redirect url and it works but I think better would be enter correct link in Redirect to a SEF URL (as a canonical URL?). But everytime I put values manually I'm receiving an error:

But I'm receing an error: You must provide a URL for the redirection.

Hi

Don't understand. "Canonical " and "Redirect" are totally unrelated things. You use one or the other, and you cannot put a canonical on a 404 because, well, a 404 doesn't exists, so it cannot have a canonical.

I think better would be enter correct link in Redirect to a SEF URL

But everytime I put values manually I'm receiving an error:

But I'm receing an error : You must provide a URL for the redirection.
I think there's a confusion here. When you use "Redirect to a SEF URL", you don't enter anything manually. You select in the list. Also, if there's no automatic suggestion, the system switch to displaying all SEF URL. If there are some suggestions, but you don't like them, then you use the filter on the left side to display all URLs and select the one you want.

- no it does not :(. I go into 404 request manager., for example baza-wiedzy/34-dude-uwagi, I see:

New SEF URL - baza-wiedzy/34-dude-uwagi

non-SEF url - nothing

Canonical url - nothing

shURL - nothing

Hi

In such case, best is to read the manual.

- no it does not :(. I go into 404 request manager., for example baza-wiedzy/34-dude-uwagi, I see:
There is a big button saying "Redirect to a SEF URL". That's what you click when you want to redirect a 404 to a SEF URL.

OK, I understand. I pressed SEF url links instead of redirect to sef url button :) . But if after some time google will reindex my page can I delete all aliases ?

Hi

There is no reason to delete them. Google actually just last week recommended to leave all similar aliases at least for a year. The problem is not only Google index, but those links maybe in other places as well, in user bookmarks, in news sites pages, etc

They don't hurt, so you should just leave them.
