Hi
sh404SEF will never be made into a Joomla 4 extensions. Please read our blog post from August 2021 about what will happen for our extensions. The short story is that:
- 4SEO is our new all-in-one SEO extension, with many more features than sh404SEF ever could have. It's been available as stable for about 1 year and a half. It does not do SEF URLs at all.
- 4SEF is a SEF URLs-only extension meant to provide SEF URLs. It does only SEF URLs, nothing else. It's in beta test, and available to all sh404SEF susbcribers for testing. It will be released as stable when enough testing has been done.
I would suggest you follow our blog, and make sure to receive our newsletter to be kept up to date of all changes and updates in our products.

Also, when I finally get my site upgraded to Joomla! 4 and use the new 4SEO component will it be able to keep all my 15,997 urls in sync so that I don't lose any seo juice? This upgrade to Joomla! 4 is turning out to be quite the PITA. :-) I definitely want to subscribe to your blog so if you could get my a link that works that would be great.

Absolutely not with 4SEO. Please read my reply above:

You should not start using 4SEO when you upgrade but now, while you're on Joomla 3. Same for 4SEF. Both work on Joomla 3 and 4 in the exact same way (that was the all point), so that you can test and work normally with your current J3 site and be sure all work fine.
