Hi,

I have used sh404sef for the last 10 years - lately on my sites that are on J3. Now I am in the process to migrate to J4 and I just want to make sure that this transiction will run smoothly. As I understoo from your documentation that When switching a website from sh404SEF to 4SEF, for instance in preparation to moving to Joomla 4, data from sh404SEF can be imported using a simple wizard, in order to achieve the smoothest possible transition.

Can you please confirm this as it will be the 1st time to do so.

Thanks,

Hi

Are you talking about 4SEF or 4SEO? Your ticket title mentions 4SEO but then you talk about 4SEF in your message?

- 4SEF is an extension that does only one thing: SEF URLs in the same way sh404SEF was doing. It does not have any other function: no redirect, no meta data, nothing else

- 4SEO is a fully-featured, all-in-one extension. It does everything you need for SEO in 2022, but does not touch SEF URLs at all. It can work with sh404SEF (on joomla 3), 4SEF (on joomla 3 or Joomla 4), regular Joomla SEF URLs or any other SEF extension you may use.

- 4SEF can import existing sh404SEF URLs

- 4SEO can import existing sh404SEF meta-data, redirects and canonicals

- 4SEF is still in beta testing. If you have an active sh404SEF subscription, you can already download and test it. There's only one single subscription for both sh404SEF and 4SEF.

Best regards

Thanks for your answer.

I am interested in both products.

On the download section is saying BETA version for J3 and 4 only for testing. Any idea when you will have the commercial one?

Hi

4SEO is stable and has been for more than a year. Only the import feature is considered beta.

Any idea when you will have the commercial one?

No. It only depends on how many people test and report issues or success. I have no control on that and so far, the testing has not been enough to remove the beta tags. I would encourage you to help here, test yourself and report success or failure in the corresponding helpdesk sections.

Best regards
