Hi, 4SEO is a "all in one SEO Extension"; does that mean that we don't need to buy sh404sef to build sef links? Regards Richard

Hi

Nope, it rather means that it has all modern SEO functions including these in sh404SEF plus the important ones in 2022 that are missing in sh404SEF such as sitemaps, structured data, a content replacer and more.

But it does that independently of SEF URLs, meaning it works with sh404SEF, 4SEF, Joomla SEF or any SEF extension. It does not know or care how URLs are created or managed.

4SEF is the tool, currently in beta, that takes over URLs creation and management on both Joomla 3 and Joomla 4. It continues sh404SEF mission to prevent duplicate content and makes URLs independant of the website menu structure.

4SEF itself is independent of 4SEO and only does SEF URLs (no redirect, canonical, meta data etc). It imports URLs from sh404SEF and creates identical URLs (althouhg there may be a few exceptions there, depending on which component you're using as the plugin format is different and needs to be updated if your components have their own sh404SEF plugins).

4SEF is part of the sh404SEF subscription - or rather sh404SEF will be part of the 4SEF subscription. You'll be able to beta test 4SEF later this week if you have an active sh404SEF subscription (a "private" beta testing phase with a small number of sh404SEF users has been going on for a couple of months now).

Best regards
