unfortunately I forgot to renew on expiry.
I wanted to renew, but I see that it is no longer possible to use paypal for the renewal. Or am I wrong?
I would like to use paypal again, for security reasons.

There's no problem using Paypal, you can chose between Paypal and Stripe at checkout:
