 Hi

I am already using sh404sef ver 4.15.2.3878, and Joomla ver 3.9.16.

Do I need to upgrade sh404sef to make it work with PHP 7.4?

I have PHP 7.2. When I tried to change to PHP 7.4 the website would not work. When I go to sh404sef admin, it gives me warnings.

Hi

Yes, 4.15. is a very old version and keeping up with PHP versions is one of the reasons you should keep your Joomla and all extensions on your site updated at all times!
You can look at sh404SEF changelog to find out what's been changed/fixed/added over time.

ok, good to know.

Is there a quick way to disable sh404sef, to test the website, if it still has errors?

Hi

sh404SEF has an on/off switch on the main control panel (Enable URL optimization + Enable Security functions)

In addition, please note that having warnings does not mean there's any actual problem. Usually they are just Deprecation notices and have no effect.

Right now, if you set Error display to maximum, Joomla itself will still throw multiple deprecation warnings with PHP 7.4.x
[EDIT]Joomla won't throw warnings, this was coming from another extension, causing warning in Joomla.
