#11880 – issues with wrong start page in Google Search Console

We´re experiencing an issue with the „start page“ which Google Search Console (GSC) has been incorrectly indexing.
Since we’re using 4SEO to communicate with GSC we assume that the cause for this issue might be known.

The url we correctly added to our property is https://iks-network.com and everything worked quite well up until 4 weeks ago, when GSC all of a sudden indexed this url: https://r.news.iks-network.com as „start page“ leading to malfunctions and errors since GSC now assumes this to be our start page and is following instructions from a wrong robots.txt and hence won’t index our sitemap anymore.

GSC reports: "Your start page is not indexed. Check your homepage to find out why it isn't indexed."

Updating the sitemap in the 4SE0 admin meanwhile takes quite a while - the message still reads „The sitemap is being created“
Trying to access the sitemap: https://www.iks-network.com/sitemap-4seo.xml
Cremes the message „Service unavailable.“

We've already update and even uninstalled/reinstalled the 4SEO application. The current version is: 6.6.1.2579

After logging in, please open a ticket describing as clearly as possible the problem you're experiencing.

Just reading your message, I can already see problems:

1 -

The url we correctly added to our property is https://iks-network.com

Trying to access the sitemap: https://www.iks-network.com/sitemap-4seo.xml

So what is your website address? with or without www?

2 - Comment: The only important parameter in 4SEO is the address you enter in the "Website home address" under Pages | Settings | Site

Unless you have enterred https://r.news.iks-network.com there, then 4SEO is not involved in your problem.

Are you using the Analyze now button to analyze the site? also, did you do a Reset analysis before you started to be sure you start from a clean state?

3 - Where does this https://r.news.iks-network.com URL comes from? obviously, you need to figure this out quickly, before wasting time on doing anything else.
