I used sef404 for  a while, sevral membership, still use it in my website. Do you have discounts code for renewals, or promotion code?

Thanks

Robert

Hi

We have the same renewal policy that we had when you used sh404SEF: you get a 20% discount when you renew an active subscription. There's no discount after a subscription has expired.

Ok, thanks, i'm not sure, after installation you can always update or is that just for 1 year? I have no questions, so no membership needed for that, only migrating the website and need to solve the old sh4044sef.

Hi

A subscription gives you access to new versions and support for a year. You cannot update to new versions without a subscription.

Note also that one specific function in 4SEO (that did not exist in sh404SEF) requires an active subscription: it's everything related to the Google Search Console.

I have no questions, so no membership needed for that

Subscriptions are not for support, I do not event count the time for support in subscriptions prices.

Subscriptions is what pays for the software. Without paying clients at all times, I just go bankrupt and there's no software any more, simple as that.

Can I change my order from 4sef to 4seo?

Hi

You can't change, the two extensions are unrelated. We can just refund you of 4SEF and you can then buy a new subscription to 4SEO.

However, are you sure you don't need 4SEF?

4SEO does not do SEF URLs. If you use sh404SEF on your site, and remove it, all your URLs are going to change back to the Joomla ones. You'll lose any ranking you may have in Google or Bing.

Ok, did not know that. I thought is was and extended version of 4sef. I need to keep the urls as it is.

Do i understand correct: the 4seo is supplemental to the 4 sef? the 4seo does not generate url's like the 4sef? The 4sef and 4seo are meant to be used in combination, I you start from zero, you still should use both for the best result?

Hi

Do i understand correct: the 4seo is supplemental to the 4 sef?

It's not "supplemental", they are totally different extensions, with absolutely nothing in common.

- 4SEF only does one thing: SEF URLs. It has no other features.

- 4SEO does everything SEO: structured data, meta data, redirects, canonical, sitemap, OpenGraph, content replacer,...

the 4seo does not generate url's like the 4sef?

4SEO does strictly nothing to URLs on a site.

The 4sef and 4seo are meant to be used in combination,

They can be used in combination. In particular, if you were a user of sh404SEF, then 4SEF is the only way to maintain your past URLs as it can import the custom ones and generally will generate the same URLs as sh404SEF did.

I you start from zero, you still should use both for the best result?

If you have any interest in SEO today, you should use 4SEO.

As for 4SEF, it depends. It gives you what sh404SEF did:

- controlled URLs, that you can manually customize

- groups all Joomla-generated duplicates under one single public URL

- no need for menu items to have clean URLs

So it entirely depends on your site structure. How the URLs "looks" will have no effect on SEO (duplicates may). If you're good with Joomla SEF URLs, on a from scratch project, then 4SEF is not needed. If you have a specific problem (or to mantain sh404SEF URLs), then 4SEF is needed.
