Hi
- 4SEF only deals with SEF URLs. In short, it changes the default Joomla URLs to something that does not depends on your menu structure, ensuring that all items will have the same URLs regardless on how they are linked. URLs are also configurable to some extent.
- 4SEO is a general purpose SEO tools. It does things like auto-canonicalization, building a sitemap, let you manage or auto-generate description, generatre structured data, has tools for generic redirects, content replacement, and quite a few more things (OpenGraph for instance). So anything you need for SEO, it's there
It does not do anything specific to Google Merchant, it won't generate a feed for instance if that's your question.
What problem do you want to solve in terms of SEO related to Google Merchant?

Hi Yannick,
I want to get my site as best as performing as can be in regards to Google services.
So, sitemap, SEO (ie for the overall rating, Search and Ads engines), SEF (ie for the Merchant center), utilize the structured data, etcetera.
I recently moved from J3 to a J4 site.
On J3 I used a whole set of tools 4SEO, OSMap, Tassos Structured Data and maybe even more. J3 was a very matured site with years of development, trial and errors, surely lots of clutter, but perfomed very good on Google services.
Now I want to get the same result, but with less tools, in a more structured setup.

You will not get that by installing a plugin.

4SEO does not have dedicated support for Virtuemart structured data at the moment, so I would say you still need Tassos Structured Data specifically for Virtuemart. This is one of the focus of the coming months, to add dedicated, automated structured data for Virtuemart (we have Hikashop and J2Store covered already).

But are keeping the same content? if so, the change from J3 to J4 is transparent, Google will not even know that you changed. The only thing that matters when you move to J3 to J4 is that you do not change the URLs.
If you change the URLs, then you lose all SEO signals immediately.
