the license for 3 sites also include sub-domains?
To be more specific, if I have www.mysite.com domain, would dev.mysite.com also be considered as an additional site?

Yes, non-PRO subscriptions are for any 3 hosts you are using.
Note that we do not sell licenses. We sell subscriptions to access our downloads area, support area and allow one-click updates through the Joomla updater.
There is of course no restrictions on how many sites you can use our extensions on. Joomla is GPL-licensed, and so are our extensions. There cannot be any restrictions on on many site you use our extensions.
