Hello Yannick and community.

I entered again into a project of a website I helped developing... Back in time we migrated from sh404sef to 4SEF and 4SEO. I think we added 4SEO too as it was necessary for a correct migration in our case... Maybe due to canonical urls I think and all of this... So we have to update the plugins. We then really need 4SEO? We just want to know as actually we don't use it actively at least. So I ask you just to know that passively is doing something with us and that effectively we need it.

If you could confirm this to me would be nice...

4SEO is the only extension that does SEO on your site. It provides you automatically with:

- A sitemap

- Automatic meta description when none found on the page

- automatic structured data for articles (the most important technical SEO in 2024)

- automatic Opengraph meta data (for sharing content on social networks)

- automatic rel canonical tag

If you want to have any form of SEO on your site, you need 4SEO.

Hello Yannick, thanks for your answer... Okay I was asking because I actually don't use it actively (I know it is doing the job in the background), but I do not use the full potential. So that's why I had to think about it, but I remember when migrated from sh it was a requirement to use both 4SEF & 4SEO and I was wondering what part of that was taking 4SEO.

4SEF only does one thing: SEF URLs. It does not do any SEO.
