I have been through all the pages crawled by 4SEO to indicate which are my Canonical pages & which are not.  I have started to point each non-canonical page to its canonical page.

Should I set each non-canonical page to "not be indexed & not followed"?

Should I set page titles & metadata on non-canonical pages or just add a canonical link to each page?

Is there a 4SEO forum somewhere, where I can post this type of question on?

Hi

I have been through all the pages crawled by 4SEO to indicate which are my Canonical pages & which are not.  I have started to point each non-canonical page to its canonical page.

Q1:  what do you mean by "Point"? what did you do?

There's normally absolutely NOTHING to do, 4SEO is taking care, properly, of setting up canonical tags in all cases. That's the entire point of having 4SEO.

Should I set each non-canonical page to "not be indexed & not followed"?

Absolutely not.

Should I set page titles & metadata on non-canonical pages or just add a canonical link to each page?

You should do nothing. And of course not spend time setting up custom page title or description on pages which are not canonical.

Is there a 4SEO forum somewhere, where I can post this type of question on?

This is exactly what the helpdesk is for!

On the non-canonical pages, I entered the canonical URL details in the canonical URL field. I take it from your reply this is not necessary.

Hi

On the non-canonical pages, I entered the canonical URL details in the canonical URL field. I take it from your reply this is not necessary.

You should remove your manually entered canonicals and do absolutely nothing about canonical pages. If 4SEO identified duplicates pages (non-canonical), it's one of its main goal and feature to automatically add a canonical link where needed.

The only time you want to change that is if you think the canonical detection is wrong or you have a special case:

- if you think 4SEO is incorrect and it thinks a page is a duplicate (non-canonical) then do not enter manually a canonical. Use the controls for that page to change the canonical status:

On the above example, the page is considered a duplicate (Auto X) but you can click on the Yes sign (marked in green) to tell 4SEO this page is actually a canonical one.
