I am building a new website and try to use 4SEO and stop using sh404sef and want to use as little as possible other extensions.
4SEO has Social networks sharing tags, but how do I get the social share buttons? Is there also something like {sh404sef_social_buttons} or do I have to install sh404sef to get this kind of buttons in my content? However I think I can no longer user sh404sef as my website is Joomla 4.

At the moment 4SEO does not have social buttons. We actually will release the social buttons but likely as a separate, free plugin. I cannot however provide a timeframe for that. Definitely not going to happen in the coming weeks.

Indeed sh404SEF will not run on Joomla 4. A new extension is being worked on at the moment, called 4SEF, which will handle only SEF URLs (ie strictly no other function than building/customizing URLs). We plan on releasing a first beta of 4SEF this quarter.
As such, we do not have a current solution for displaying social sharing buttons on Joomla 4, so I think you would have to search for a 3rd-party extension for that.
Note that generating OGP tags is independant of how the buttons are displayed (you don't even needs button on your page, people can just share the links, with the same effect), so you can use 4SEO-generated OGP tags with any button solution you find.
We're working full steam on providing the best solutions we can for Joomla 4, but it does take time...

You're welcome! Whether the sharing buttons will be part of 4SEO, or a separate free plugin is undecided yet. It makes sense to have them inside, it can be much more powerful, for instance we can have rules to decide on which pages to show them or not, etc.
But it will make 4SEO bigger and bigger...

I would really love and use it if you put it inside 4SEO, and it will make the product a lot more valuable for people like me. I also think it should as you do such a nice job with the Social network sharing tags and adding the buttons make that work complete and centralized. Besides that, sh404sef has given you so much experience and knowledge on this area. Using 3thd little extensions from not well known software developers for this last step is something administrators like me doesn't like because of security and stability risks.
I wish your wisdom and a lot of energy in your great #4SEO work ;-)

Yes, that's what makes the most sense of course, I'm just already battling having too many settings and options in the same extensions. Believe it or not, many people actually prefer small, single features extensions rather than large, all-one-ones.
In the case of 4SEO, the key point for me is efficiency as all parts can use the same data, which reduces the database load a lot.
Anyway, energy is and certainly will be needed!
