Hi
I recently received an email from Google Search Console team I'd never seen before - "Coverage issues detected" and email included this - "Server error (5xx)"
It means that while crawling one or more pages of the site, your server returned a 500 error, which is the generic code for an internal error. Can be absolutely anything, not even in your Joomla site but also at various levels in between at your hosting company for instance.
You would need to know the exact URL(s) where they got that error and try to load it to see if the error still happens.
I checked 4SEO and did not find a 500 error around the time/date of email.
Is 4SEO designed to detect/collect errors like that reported from Google Search Console?
4SEO should collect most errors that happens on your Joomla site. By definition, it cannot catch errors that happen outside of your site (ie at web server level). Even if the error happens on your site, whether 4SEO can actually record and store the error to the database depends on where the error happens. For example, if the error is in the MYSQL server, then 4EO won't be able to write the error to the database.
BTW - given this email occurred on a Sat evening, I assume error occurred earlier in the day, and I'm find considering this just an intermittent error.
You can't really assume that. The search console is not really a reliable tool. They'll alert you of some things, sometimes and other times they won't.
Again, the key point here is to have an actual URL and test it in your browser.
For my info - Any current timeline for 4SEF? I'm just trying to plan when I might be able to pick back up on my Joomla 4 conversion project.
Still planning on a first beta release this quarter. Progress will be announced through the blog and newsletter.
Best regards
