Hi there

I have now worked with 4SEO for some time. Its a new plugin but really nice.
In my work with i noticed some things that maybe are bugs or misconfiguration and posible changes.

1) I am using Redshop (for most pages on my site). It would be really great if you supportet Redshop, especially for structured data.

2) Why does it registrate a url like this in "Pages"?

It is a link the customer gets by email and should be on the site it self.

3) Sitemap. It does not respect "exclude url" list.

4) When i am working with 4SEO the messages e.g. "1 url is deleted" is persident. That is pretty anoying that i have to dismiss them a lot of times.

It would be nice if the self close e.g. 5 seconds after.

5) Structured data > Settings > Default person > Url

I have entered my Linkedin profile link, but it does not output the sourcecode. The name works.

6) I am using Regular Labs modals. It appends ?=ml1 to the url to show the modal without template. 4SEO registrate this as duplicate content.

I used the 4SEO replacer and removed the ?=ml1 in the code and it is not in the sourcecode. But 4SEO still registrate the url again in "Pages"

7) In "Pages" > Search engine preview. It would be nice if the preview and the fields Meta description and Canonical was the actual output on the page

and not just fetch it from Joomla. Right now i have made some structured data directly in Redshop source code and the Meta and Canonical is set in Redshop and sh404sef.

So it would be nice if Search engine preview would reflect the real structure of the page.

8) Redirect function. sh404sef can redirect non sef urls like

/index.php?option=com_epay{*}

/?task=view

But it don´t seem like 4SEO can do a redirect like that?

9) How do i import the redirects (Alias) from sh404sef?

I can´t find a setting for it.

I guess 4SEO has to take over this part when i 4SEF gets released and i remove sh404sef.

Hi,

Thanks for your detailed report. It's not manageable in one single ticket, so I will provide answers here as I can and then will close the ticket. Please open separate ones for these questions where you need more details.

1 / Redshop: we have no plan for it at the moment, you're the first ever to ask for it over the last 8 months. I know it though, it's just not really present at the moment. I have taken note of this request in your tracker.

Because it finds them inside your pages. And if it does, so does Google.

3) Sitemap. It does not respect "exclude url" list.

We have no such report. Have you Reset analysis after adding exclusion rules? If yes, please open ticket with the exact rules that you created (screenshot is best).

Auto-dismissable messages are not accessible and will not be part of 4SEO or any of our software.

Please open ticket with a full and real URL where the problem can be seen.

As it should. This IS duplicate content. You should exclude these URLs entirely from analysis or add a canonical rule for them so that they point at the source.

The problem here is not 4SEO, it's what you show to Google.

That's exactly what we do. The title, description and canonical are those found in the page when it was crawled. Of course, if any of these value is changed, you'll have to wait for 4SEO to pick them up in a crawl update.

We don't do that, there's no real way to extract an actual title and description from Joomla database due to the routing rules based on menu items.

These from sh404SEF should be picked up normally. This is fully tested and running daily on our other live site (and many users). These from Redshop should be picked up if it uses the standard Joomla API to inject them. Cannot do anything without full and real URL to pages and superadmin access. Again, be sure to Reset analysis after changes in any of these.

4SEO can do any redirect sh404SEF can do and some that sh404SEF cannot. Need details (full and real URLs) and superadmin access.
