hello,

getting better at using 4seo, enjoying it thus far.

we're trying to see if we're using this right. "Always redirect to site main address"

currently, when we input: https://xxxx.com/

it brings up a "not secure" warning page. we want it to redirect or rewrite to https://www.xxxx.com/

in the "website home address" we input "https://www.xxxx.com/" and we checked "yes" to always redirect to site main address" but it's not actually doing that..  we've cleared the cache to see if that helped, but it did not.

anyways, any ideas? we used to just redirect in the htaccess file, but im trying to see if your plugin will do this for us.

Hi

in the "website home address" we input "https://www.xxxx.com/" and we checked "yes" to always redirect to site main address" but it's not actually doing that..

That's the expected behavior. What kind of hosting setup do you have?

Best regards

Hi

The reason it would not redirect is if it does not have the information that the request was made without www (in your case), which may happen depending on the hosting setup/ webserver configuration.

So the current redirect is from the .htaccess?

Can you disable it and provide super admin access?

Best regards

we usually do it by htaccess, but have not done it since we are trying to do it through 4seo.

we made you a super admin for now:

username: xxxx
pw: xxxx

Hi

but have not done it since we are trying to do it through 4seo.

So what is doing the redirect now if not 4SEO?

Going to https://xxxx.com/, I'm redirected to https://www.xxxx.com/ as expected.

I suspect you need to clear your browser cache at the very least.

ok great thank you, i been clearing cache, and it works in firefox, but not in safari and not in chrome..

anyways, i got other people on my team to try as well, i think im okay to just say it's working, even though on 2 of 3 browsers for me is not working. i did just check my ipad, and it seem to have work as expected.

thank you again for confirming that is the expected outcome. i was just trying to make sure.

Hi

Yes, that's likely linked to your specific setup, either browser, network or one of the many other things involved.

For me it also works on Chrome, although you may think it actually did not redirect while it did. The address displayed in the address bar stays at xxxx.com/, but if you click in it, you'll indeed see https://www.xxxx.com/.
