Hi Yannick,

Thanks for your help, for the first time in 20 years running InfoCruceros.com I feel that I have control over SEO and how crawlers see my website.

In the last attemp to analyze my website and create a sitemap I realize that I have duplicated content because of the K2 tags, this is because of the tags at the end of the articles include the menu alias in the URL, for example:

/destinos/america/tag/Disney%20Cruise%20Line
/noticias/tag/Disney%20Cruise%20Line
/entrevistas/tag/Disney%20Cruise%20Line

How should I manage this and just have /tag/Disney%20Cruise%20Line?? I tried to change to "Use absolute URL path" in Canonical URL settings in K2 but nothing changed...

There are many people saying that you shouldn't include tag pages in sitemap, what do think and recommend?

Finally I disabled author and tags analyze....

I just left news articles, articles, and ships reviews... Now the analysis ends with 2722 pages, and that's ok

Hi

First a general answer:

How should I manage this and just have /tag/Disney%20Cruise%20Line?? I tried to change to "Use absolute URL path" in Canonical URL settings in K2 but nothing changed...

If you change things in your site content or settings, 4SEO may or may not detect the changes automatically. In this case, changing a canonical will be detected as a canonical is of course and important SEO factor. In other cases, you may have to "Reset analysis" and re-do it.

I realize that I have duplicated content because of the K2 tags, this is because of the tags at the end of the articles include the menu alias in the URL

Is that K2 expected behavior? that seems a bit odd. Have you checked with them? Maybe you need to have a dedicated menu item for a "tag" page of K2?

There are many people saying that you shouldn't include tag pages in sitemap, what do think and recommend?

I would definitely concur, except in one case: if tags are the only way to reach some pages. But if you have "category" pages or menu links, or anything that's just real links and search engines can find your content, I'd avoid including tags in sitemaps. These pages have no SEO values in themselves and you should tell search engines they are not really important - by excluding them from the sitemap, which basically lists important and canonical pages only.

Best regards

Yannick Gaultier
